What’s It All About
This book’s about children’s equality,
And what it takes a friend to be,
No need for friends each feature to share,
But just for each other to truly care.
…And it’s about Article 2 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child which states that every child is entitled to the rights set out in the Convention “without discrimination of any kind.” Thus, all children are entitled to the same educational and other opportunities in life which will lead to good development without regard to such factors, among others, as the colour of their skin, national,
cultural, or ethnic origin.
